Some years ago the Cuban government issued a regulation that allows to circulate rebuilt cars that have suffered severe crash, corrosion or were neglected. In the past, when a car stopped been used, for the above reason, it was impossible to incorporate them legally. The current law now allows re-registering cars if it retains up to 60 percent of its original features. I’m interested in the speculative possibilities of the remained 40 percent and the implication that this new amendment will have in the general traffic law: a kind of aerodynamic of the legal language.

[:es]Hace unos pocos años el gobierno cubano emitió una regulación que permite poner otra vez en circulación a aquellos autos destruidos por un choque, corrosión o abandono. En el pasado, cuando un auto por estos motivos salía de la vía pública resultaba imposible incorporarlo nuevamente. El decreto permite ahora re-inscribir automóviles si se conservan hasta un 60 por ciento de sus rasgos originales.
